New Non-Turf Pitch installation @ THCC

An initiative four years in the making was recently completed following the installation of a new non-turf pitch (NTP). The NTP has been funded with a grant, provided by England & Wales Cricket Board & the Sussex Cricket Foundation, that is aimed at increasing women and girls participation in cricket. THCC has worked closely with the Sussex Cricket Foundation to organically grow participation, notably:

  • 2022: Hosting our first All Stars & Dynamos cricket programmes for children aged 5-11 years old
  • 2024:  Entering our first U11s girls league team and U9s girls team for festival cricket
  • 2025: Establishing 3 youth teams (U12s girls; U11s girls; U10s mixed) as well as the inaugural Women's soft ball cricket team.

As part of THCC's ambitions to grow and provide more cricket opportunities to adults and children alike, this new NTP was desperately needed to replace the old (and well used) pitch that has been in place for over 25 years. The new NTP enables the club to host junior and women's fixtures on a state-of-the-art wicket, as well as provide an all-year round training facility for all sections of the club. Many have already commented on the benefits this installation will bring, and we are extremely pleased with the quality and craftsmanship. Shout out to Exclusive Leisure Limited for their professional service installing the new pitch.

THCC would like to thank the following parties for their help to realise this ambition ahead of the 2025 season:

  • England & Wales Cricket Board  (ECB)
  • Sussex Cricket Foundation (SCF)
  • Exclusive Leisure
